Surprise! The Hotel Concord Offers Cookies To Guests

Going Above and Beyond For Our Guests

Here at The Hotel Concord, our entire team works hard to make our guest's experience an exemplary one. In fact, our General Manager, Michele Gibeault, goes deliciously above and beyond for our guests.

Michele’s career path has taken many twists and turns through the years, and we're so glad they brought her to us, and so are our guests!

Michele's Story...

From her first high school job decorating cakes at Dairy Queen to her talent today for creating gourmet treats, Michele has always loved the creativity baking provides. While her early career was as a middle school teacher teaching seventh-grade math and science, she loved the job because it gave her time to be home with her kids, after several years she found herself drawn back to the confectionary sciences.

After she left her teaching job, she returned to her first love and took a position at Chandler's Cakes and Candies. There Michele was not only a baker and chocolatier; she also taught cake decorating classes and hosted children's birthday parties where all the kids got to decorate cakes. During her nine years at Chandler, she gained a reputation for her beautiful, creative and, delicious wedding cakes, holiday cakes, anniversary cakes, cookies, and chocolates. She loved working with the customers and the creativity of the job.

After Chandlers, she opened her own shop, Michele's Cakes and Confections, where her reputation for creating intricate cakes for bridal showers, weddings, and birthdays continued to grow. For the next nine years, she wowed her customers creating designs including cookies for a bridal shower decorated like the gowns, a cake in the shape of a cribbage board, a Tiffany box cake with a wedding ring inside, and a haunted Halloween tree cake with candy hanging from the branches.

The next chapter came when Michele closed her business and began a career in the hospitality industry working for hotels in Concord and Manchester, New Hampshire. One Halloween, her hotel was hosting a group of Youth Hockey players. The kids were upset that they were going to miss trick or treating, so she brought in baked goods for the entire team. Once again Michele was back to baking and bringing cookies, cakes, chocolates, and (a big favorite) chocolate covered popcorn to share with the guests and staff at the hotels she worked for.

Bringing Smiles to Guests at The Hotel Concord

We're so pleased and proud to have Michele with us at The Hotel Concord as the General Manager. What she loves most about the job is getting to know and assist our guests. “The people here are exceptional, and they really appreciate the hotel. Management works hard to personalize the guest experience and accommodate our guest's needs. It's one of the big advantages of not being part of a chain,” Michele explained. Another example of this is the management's encouragement of her baking!

Michele's favorite room is number 611. It's a corner room on the bullnose or curved part of the building. What she likes most is the beautiful floor to ceiling windows and the extensive patio with seating, overlooking downtown Concord. “But you know,” Michele added, “the truth is all of the rooms are wonderful. Each one is unique with a different setup and floor plan, but they all have the same luxury amenities.”
